Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG vs BMW M6 vs Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The Corvette is a powerful and purposeful machine that has been engineered to excel in any scenario. Road courses, back roads, and yes, even drag races. The light weight, fat rear tires, and powerful V8 make for one hell of a drag machine. If you need to see any proof of the potential prowess of the newer Corvettes on the drag strip, just check out this new video from Drag Times. The video starts with a heat between a modified 700-horsepower AMG Mercedes and an 800-horsepower BMW, but it all ends with a Corvette.

The first race sees the Mercedes beat out the BMW, and then the AMG car lines back up for its next race. That next race though is against none other than a C6 ZR1. Of course, even with its incredible supercharged LS9 V8, you can never have enough horsepower at the drag strip. Instead of the normal 638-horsepower the car rolled out of the factory with, this ZR1 has been tuned up to make 900-horsepower.

Needless to say, this wasn’t much of a competition. The Mercedes may have been feeling pretty good after beating the BMW, but the Corvette showed that pesky German just how drag races are done.
