Powered by a Blower and Alcohol, This “Alcoholic” C2 Corvette Tears up the Texas Motorplex.
American Outlaws Live went to Texas Motorplex to go bracket racing and divvy out some cold hard cash. True Street, Small Tire, and Big Tire classes comprised the field, and one white C2 Corvette had everyone’s attention, particularly during one pass.
High-siding a drag car is a bit of a nerve-wracking moment. That’s exactly what happened to Bruce Darby while driving this C2 ‘Vette. Dubbed “The Alcoholic” due to being fueled by alcohol (and assisted by a blower, duh), the two-wheel action happened nearly halfway down the track during his first round pass. Bruce pulled off a save, and kept the car in one piece. Amazingly, he also won that race.
Round two, unfortunately, didn’t go so well. It’s anyone guess as to what happened, but just after the launch, the Alcoholic just seems to shut down. Which is especially unfortunate when there’s $75,000 on the line. We wish 1320video followed up to find out what happened, but understandably, they had to interview the winner first.
As far as times and numbers, that’s not what American Outlaws Live is all about. You get a win light, and that’s it.
