This morning, I began gathering data to write a post about how orange was a missing hue in the C7 Corvette paint scheme, but as I was scuba diving through the forums, news began to break from Corvette Forum members attending the 2014 National Corvette Museum Bash. According to forum member “mpuzach” (a.k.a. Mike), orange is coming back to the Corvette for 2015.
As dressy as this C7 Corvette Stingray looks on Vossen wheels, the rolling stock’s extra visual appeal hits you as though the car is undressing right in front of you. Click on the image after the jump to download this week’s Wednesday wallpaper, and after doing so, keep a close watch on your temperature under the collar … under-collar overheating can cause your head to blow clear off your body, and nobody wants to clean up that mess.
As a Corvette lover, it’s safe to assume you are also a car lover in general. Most Corvette fans have room in their hearts for other types of cars. Perusing the forums, I’ve seen that you have a wide variety of vehicles sharing space with your Corvette in the garage: from the Honda Civic and Toyota Camry, to the Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 and the Audi R8 Spyder (in toy-car form). One forum member even said his other car was a “pair of Nikes.” Tell us what else you drive.
This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette has been painstakingly restored by forum member “ORANGEBROTHERS” who says he’s “bringing C3’s back to life one at a time.” I’d say that’s quite the noble cause. With this ’74 I must admit, I developed a bit of a crush at first sight, and then I developed a craving for a certain orange-flavored soft drink … by far, that is the most bizarre reaction I’ve had to any car, and on that bombshell, this C3 gets my nod for “Corvette of the Week”.
Corvette Forum has recently been infused with a 55-gallon injection of beauty serum. Forum member “Phantasms” (a.k.a. Gene Sanchez Leeds) has posted 125 jaw-dropping images from the New York Auto Show that you must see. Click past the jump for a link to photos that are about as wonderful as the first time you broke through the 100 mph barrier.
