Corvette Forum descended upon California Festival of Speed on April 12, and good times were had by many. With the warm Sun glistening off your ‘Vettes accompanied by the background audio of high-horsepower exotics parading around Auto Club Speedway, it was about as good as a Sunday in Southern California gets.

I haven’t had the chance to drive a 2015 Corvette Z06 yet, but I think getting to drive the McLaren 650S will hold me over.

Corvette Forum is converging upon the California Festival of Speed. It’s the largest supercar event in the Southwest, and it’s going down Sunday, April 12 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. Join us and meet your fellow forum members. As much as it looks like this Corvette was crafted for cops, RPO 687 actually made the C1 more track-capable. This was the precursor to RPO Z06 that would be offered in the C2 the following model year. Still, this triple-black car looks ready to chase bad guys rather than a first-place finish.

According to Motor Trend’s recent Corvette Z06 retest at Willow Springs International Raceway’s “Big Track”, the Z06 (when equipped with a manual transmission) is faster than the Nissan GT-R NISMO.
