Battle of the Sixes: C6 Corvette Z06 Versus ZR1

What do you do when you have two Corvettes, a C6 Z06 and a C6 ZR1, an open runway, and access to lots of nitrous? You have a spectacularly loud drag race, until one person decides they don’t have enough cojones to continue on, that’s what.

According to the High Tech Corvette video below, what we are looking at here are two C6 Corvettes. They may look similar in their outward appearance, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find two very different powertrains making entirely too much horsepower. The C6 Corvette Z06 has a monster 7.0-liter LS7, which makes 1,000+ horsepower, thanks to a nitrous setup. The C6 Corvette ZR1, however, uses a tuned supercharged V8 that now makes over 780 horsepower.

So, we have our race. 1,000 horsepower versus 780 horsepower. Both are C6 Corvettes. And both are driven to their utmost capabilities. So who do you think will win? And is horsepower the primary factor, or is traction? Take a look.
