It’s good to be the king. But it might be better to be Rick Hendrick.

First, Hendrick got inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame at the National Corvette Museum. Then his induction visit coincided with the unveiling of Hendrick’s gorgeous new, well, old 1963 Sting Ray restomod. And just to put the cherry on top of such a good week, country singer Brad Paisley was on hand to help out.

The Grammy winner just happened to be in Bowling Green watching his new Z06 come off the line, so he joined in on the unveiling ceremony. Paisley also took a minute to rave about building his own engine, as you can see in the video below.

Aside from having celebrity clout and being an absolute stunner, Hendrick’s “new” car has an old story. This was the car Hendrick used to own, which he was big pimpin’ in when he first started dating his wife. It’s literally the Corvette that started it all, as Hendrick sold it to purchase his first dealership.

Hendrick never forgot about that ’63, and about 15 years ago he was able to track her down. Now, all these years later, she’s got a brand new chassis and the supercharged LS9 6.2L V8 of a ZR1, along with a few other choice additions.

But it’s not like the old chassis went to waste. Check out Hendrick’s new glass topped conference table in his office. Yep, that’s the original chassis from the ’63 right there. Long live the king.
