Are Wheels the Most Important Visual Mod for the C5 Corvette?

In terms of improving the looks of a C5, wheels tend to be one of the most effective methods. No one has ever really accused the 5-spoke rims that came stock on the C5 of being the prettiest wheels fitted to a car in all of automobile history. So naturally, owners seek options elsewhere. For example, C5 owner and Corvette Forum member GTJim went with a set of 10-spoke brushed aluminum wheels in the ample size of 19″ up front and 20″ out back.

Not mentioned in GTJim’s post about the new wheels is the width of said rims, but careful inspection of the photos shows what appears to be 265 width up front and 295 width out back. The machined faces of the rims give a high-quality look, while not being overly loud. Wheels are just one of the exterior mods a C5 owner can look into, though.

From the FRC to the Coupe to the Z06, I’ve seen more than my fair share of unique touches, such as “Jake” on the hood like the LeMans cars, interior panels painted the outside color of the car, even Corvettes wrapped in a completely new color. Have you changed the appearance of your C5? We’d love to hear about it!
