2011 Corvette Coupe Overview

2011 will be the 58th year of production for the fabled Chevrolet Corvette and similar to the 2010 models, the 2011 Corvette Coupe offers four different trimlines.  The 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe begins with a base model, followed by the Grand Sport, the Z06 and finally the ZR1; making for the most trimlines offered on the Corvette Coupe aside from 2010 but unlike last year’s Corvette Coupe, 2011 offers a array of new customization options.

The base model 2011 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a 430 horsepower LS3 V8 mated to either an automatic or manual six-speed transmission.  If the automatic transmission is chosen, the 2011 Corvette Coupe can be equipped with steering wheel mounted shift paddles to offer the driver manual control of the gear selection when in Drive.  New for 2011, the Corvette Coupe is available in Inferno Orange and Supersonic Blue with the option of contrasting colored headlight housing offered in Cyber Gray, Black or Blade Silver.   Inside of the 2011 Corvette Coupe, buyers can select from blue, red or yellow stitching and a USB port and input jack are standard with the navigation radio option.  Finally, the 2011 Corvette Coupe offers a new brake packing featuring larger cross drilled rotors for those who want a little more stopping power from their new Corvette.

The next step up for the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is the Grand Sport.  The Grand Sport returned to the Corvette lineup in 2010 with great success – accounting for half of all coupe sales in 2010. Like the base model Corvette Coupe, the 2011 Grand Sport Coupe is powered by the LS3 V8 and comes with either the manual or automatic transmission with the option of the paddle shifters.  The 2011 Grand Sport is offered in similar fashion to the 2010 models with a variety of features from the Corvette Z06 such as the tuned suspension, bigger brakes and body enhancements.  The news for 2011 is that the Grand Sport Coupe buyers can also order the Magnetic Ride Control system found on the Corvette ZR1 and when the Magnetic Ride Control system is selected the 2011 Grand Sport is also equipped with Goodyear F1 Supercar Gen 2 tires (manual transmission only).

The next step up in the ranks of the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette is the Corvette Z06.  The 2011 Z06 appears in the same form as the 2010 models with the exception of the new colors mentioned above.  The 2011 Corvette Z06 is powered by a 505 horsepower LS7 engine mated to a six speed manual transmission (there is no automatic option for the Z06 – and there really shouldn’t be).

Finally, the big dog in the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe lineup is the mighty ZR1 – the most powerful production car ever offered by Chevrolet.  The Corvette ZR1 is powered by a 638 horsepower, supercharged LS9 V8 and like the Z06, the ZR1 is available only with a manual transmission.
