“Carlisle Blue” Added to the 2012 Corvette Color Palate

Red, White and Carlisle Blue! The Carlisle name, representative of Corvettes at Carlisle, is one of two new additions to the color palate for the upcoming 2012 Corvette model year.

Carlisle, Pennsylvania and the Corvette brand have been tied together since the initial Corvettes at Carlisle event in 1982. Since then, millions of Corvette enthusiasts have flocked to Pennsylvania’s Automotive Capital to witness ?America’s Sports Car? on display. Annually the Corvette showfield hosts more than 5,000 cars covering all eras of production.

During the 30-year relationship with General Motors and Corvette, Carlisle has become known as THE place for the most eclectic mix of Corvette buffs, be it a single car owner, collector or admirer. With the addition of ?Carlisle Blue,? Corvette has officially recognized Carlisle’s place in the history and growth of their brand. The new models with this special color option will be available to pre-order by late May/early June.

?The new 2012 ?Carlisle Blue? metallic is in the same family as blues that were on the Corvette Sting Ray in the ?60s,? noted Harlan Charles, Corvette Product Marketing Manager. ?This year will be the 30th Corvettes at Carlisle and you’ll be able to see the ?60s era Sting Rays and a special 2012 ‘Carlisle Blue’ Corvette Grand Sport created especially for the event.?

?Life is good,? quipped Carlisle Events Co-Owner Lance Miller. ?When I first found out about the new ‘Carlisle Blue’ offered for the 2012 Corvette I was blown away. It is a true honor to have Chevrolet recognize Carlisle Events and of course Corvettes at Carlisle through a color.?
