The more I come across beauties like this one, the more I’m convinced that I might be a bigger fan of classic Corvettes than the contemporary models.
Of course, the down side is that when it comes to rarities like this, a one-of-one-hundred 1954 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, I’d probably need to pick up at least three part-time jobs, which would leave me with practically no time to drive the car.
The C1, which goes on auction February 27th at Mecum, is equipped with Chevy’s legendary 150 HP Blue Flame inline-six engine, the Triple Carter side draft carburetion with chromed bullet air cleaners, and a chromed coolant overflow tank.
The car is also equipped with a floor-mounted shifter linked to a Powerglide automatic transmission. But it’s that Sportsman Red exterior and matching red interior accented with those wide white wall tires that leaves me longing to take this one home.
