Corvette of the Week: Hydroracer’s New (to Him) 2000 FRC

2000 Corvette C5 FRC

When picking the Corvette of the Week, we’ve got so many incredible options here on Corvette Forum, it can be a bit overwhelming. With so many worthy candidates, how can we possibly narrow it down?

Well, there’s no easy answer to that question, as there’s really no set criteria for our selection committee. Usually, each member of the committee will just nominate the Corvette they love most, and then we’ll fight it out, frequently with bloody results. Sometimes, though, we’ll find common ground, and frequently, that shared connection will be as much about the story of a Corvette as it will be about the beauty of it. This is one of those times.

This week’s COTW comes to us care of Corvette Forum member Hydroracer, who just posted this glorious picture of his new (to him) Nassau Blue 2000 FRC with the following caption:

“Finally got our car! After looking for a while, we finally found a low mile original owner FRC from an awesome owner on this forum. We flew out to San Diego to finalize the sale then had it shipped home. It arrived earlier this week and I’ve been detailing it since.”

Now, there’s a couple of reasons why this Corvette story is so COTW-worthy: first of all, it’s great to see a new owner so stoked about his gorgeous “new” ride, and posting up pics about it here on CF. Second, it’s heartwarming to hear that such a happy transaction started here on CF.

If that kind of Corvette Forum goodwill isn’t what the Corvette of the Week is all about, then I don’t know what is (but I’ll be sure to double check with the committee, just in case).
