Corvette Racing roars into Long Beach this weekend for the Tequila Patrón Sports Car Showcase with one nice win already under its belt.

The team, looking to find its groove for the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, was recently named RACER Magazine’s 2013 Team of the Year in worldwide motorsports.

The editorial team of the popular racing publication selected Corvette Racing for the award based on the team’s winning the 2013 American Le Mans Series GT championship, according to an official press release.

Last year’s championship win marked the 10th ALMS title for Corvette Racing. The team dominated the 2013 season, winning five or half of all the races on the ALMS calendar. Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen earned three of the victories and the GT drivers’ championship piloting the No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R. Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner picked up the other two wins in the No. 4 Corvette.

Now, Corvette Racing is looking to capture that same winning spirit with the new Corvette C7.R.

“This recognition is appreciated by everyone on the Corvette Racing, Pratt & Miller and Powertrain team,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. Vice President, Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, in a press release statement. “It underscores the strong teamwork, preparation and strategy Corvette Racing displayed during its 2013 championship run. The team is looking forward to the rest of this season competing with the Corvette C7.R.”
