Is Your Corvette Ready for Texas Invitational 2016?

By -

The Texas Invitational is one of the most extreme airfield top-speed exhibitions on the planet, featuring some of the highest horsepower street machines ever built. While Corvettes have always fared well at this runway race, the competition from the high-horsepower exotica and those pesky Nissan GT-Rs is stiff. It’s time to step up to the plate, turn up the boost a little bit, and see if you can trip the lights at a buck-seventy-five.

Running next month in Texas, sanctioned by the ominous sounding Texas Speed Syndicate, the Invitational began back in 2010, and really kickstarted the trend of airstrip racing around the country. Since then, some really big names have produced some really big horsepower. These days, if you don’t have more than 2,000 horsepower in your car, and drag radials gripping the pavement, you don’t even have a chance of placing in the top five.

If you think your Corvette has what it takes to beat the best in the business of high speed, then you need to make sure you get your invite, because this is your chance to show them what Bowling Green Muscle is made of.

For those of us not attending, there will be live streaming and produced video coverage after the event as well. Check out Texas Speed Syndicate’s website for more info.
