Corvette of the Week: a Little Red C3 is Where the Heart Is

CF user theblackvette may have to change his name now that his 14 1/2 year search for a 1971 Corvette is over.  To those that may have something to say about the length of time it took him to find this beauty, theblackvette has this to say:

It just took me a lot longer than others. It is as simple as that. I was not going to accept any substitutes. So what that it took me this long. It was one hell of an adventure finding her and I am glad I took my time because I absolutely LOVE the car.

He has made various other Corvette purchases over the years he was absolutely happy with, but this Mille Miglia red C3 is what he needed to fill the void in his heart and it was truly worth the wait.  Theblackvette didn’t even need to pay a visit to the car in person because this little red Corvette resonated with him through pictures and video before he’d even had it inspected.

The car spoke to me in a BIG way. I knew it was the one. I always follow my heart and I decided to go for it! There was ONE other car that spoke to me like that, but this red one spoke even LOUDER. Simple as that…..

Theblackvette knew what he wanted when he finally saw it and we thank him for finding this red beauty. The first official event he plans to attend is the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) January meet in Kissimee, Florida.

CorvetteForum feels privileged to be a part of such an incredible find!  Pay a visit to theblackvette’s thread to congratulate him for this highest of honors and read his first hand account of the day “the one” was delivered; his excitement is infectious.

I'd rather be driving my Tumbler.
