Distracted Driving Leads to New Corvette Getting Whacked

Distracted driving is sadly happening more and more often these days. Despite the overwhelming amount of things that can be done on a phone, driving still remains the responsibility of the driver. So as much as one might try and lay blame on a designer of a game or app, they aren’t at fault. Distracted driving led to one of our fellow Corvette Forum member’s new C7 getting clobbered while sitting at a red light. A young lady was on her phone, and the Corvette — less than two months old — now has this incident attached to it for life. Most of the back-end bodywork needs to be replaced, and the hatch won’t open. Additionally, it looks like the exhaust took a bit of impact as well.

I’d previously written about some steps to follow if an unfortunate incident occurs. Those mostly center around the fact that you have the right to accept the car back only when it is repaired to your satisfaction. Also, with the mark on Carfax, diminished value settlement is an important thing to see from your insurer. For forum member lpabsolute, we hope his Corvette gets mended quickly and correctly.
