Facebook Fridays: One of Corvette’s Biggest Champions Retires

By -

Ed Welburn

Well, friends, Ed Welburn, one of Corvette’s biggest and most influential fans, has decided to retire. And while we certainly wish him well, we also really hate to see him go.

Not only has the General Motors VP of Global Design been instrumental in helping to shape the look of the Corvette over the years, but he also took a much more personal interest in the car during his 44-year tenure at the company. Indeed, Welburn helped champion the Corvette as a major global contending sports car all around the world.

So, in honor of Mr. Welburn, we pulled a photo from Corvette’s official Facebook page to share as our Facebook Fridays’ pic of the week. It really only captures a glimpse of what Mr. Welburn’s 44-year tenure has meant to GM. But we think it’s pretty fitting, especially when it comes to his passion for Corvette.

Mr. Welburn, we’d like to thank you for all your years of service in helping to make the Corvette one of the best sports cars in the world.
