Genovation Will Build 75 All-Electric Corvettes at $750K a Piece

We kind of figured Genovation had something up their sleeve with their electric C6 Corvette.

You just don’t keep pressing the envelope as the fastest street-legal electric car simply for kicks. Now, what we didn’t expect was for the company to start selling C7-based models of the electric ‘Vette for a whopping $750,000 a pop.

Yep, a-quarter-of-a-million dollars — more than 10 times the cost of a base Corvette — for one of 75 electric versions of the car. Even for a car capable of a top speed of 205.6 mph, that may seem a bit out of touch. But maybe not, as CNET points out, considering that the now discontinued all-electric Audi R8 e-tron had a price tag of $1 million.

Equipped with a 44-kWh battery pack and electric motors that produce more than 660 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, the Genovation GXE has quickly become one of the most buzzed about EVs on the planet. And we’re thinking that there are more than enough fans of the limited-edition Corvette to account for those 75 units. What do you think?
