Genovation's Electric Corvette Touts Carbon Revolution Wheels

Genovation’s Record-Breaking All-Electric Corvette Packs a Lot of Innovative Technology

Driving every great record-breaking run are a set of great wheels. Well, that and a bomber powertrain, of course.

Which brings us to the all-electric Genovation GXE. We’ve already spent considerable time covering the C6 Corvette’s innovative electric motor and battery setup. Cranking out 700-hp and 650 lb-ft. of torque, it’s the fastest street-legal electric car in the world. How fast? How about a top speed of 209 mph?

But as detailed in a newly released video, the Carbon Revolution Wheels driving the GXE are pretty innovative in their own right.

“We really tried to focus on making the GXE an exciting and fun to drive car that’s sustainable and eco-friendly,” says Andrew Saul, Founder and CEO of Genovation Cars. “In terms of the wheels, it’s so important to have lightweight wheels. Carbon Revolution is really at the cutting edge of technology.”

Michael Belcher, Carbon Revolution’s director of aftermarket sales, says the partnership with GXE is a perfect fit.

“This car is really all about the performance. And anything you can do to lighten the mass of the wheel assembly really improves the performance,” says Belcher. “At the top speeds that they are hitting, you really want to have that durability to make sure that structurally everything is sound.”

Genovation is currently in the testing and development phase for the much buzzed-about GXE Corvette. But if you’re looking to get a jump on things, they’ve already begun accepting pre-orders for a limited 75 production vehicles. But they won’t come cheap, each car is expected to cost $750,000.
