Hemi-Powered Corvette Tears Up Drag Strip

This Hemi-powered Corvette might not be what you’re used to seeing here, but LSx engines have powered just about everything we have come to know and love, so maybe it’s time to see the other side?

Racing on the 1/8th mile might not seem like that much excitement, with races over almost before they have begun, but actually that’s where the best talent lies, not only with drivers, but with chassis engineers as well.

This ‘Vette’s fastest pass of 3.93 @ 193 mph should convince you of how much power this monster Hemi block is making. If it is passing 193 at the 1/8th mile, what would it make at the 1/4 mile?

So is it sacrilege to use a Hemi block in a Corvette? Or is it just good enough to see that a Corvette is decimating the competition, even if it is the 1/8th mile? I know, I know, we all use the 1/4 mile as the standard of competition, but 1/8th mile races are still common enough that custom builds for that type of racing still exist. For that, I say quit whining and start building!
