It’s called a racecraft, not a racecar, for a reason: because its times are otherwordly. The people behind the wheel aren’t aliens, though, they’re just regular guys building incredible machines. With claims all over the LMR website that this is the world’s first C7 Corvette in the 9s, the videos the company has been releasing give very convincing evidence that this certainly is one of the fastest and most powerful ‘Vettes ever made.

The video below takes place at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas and features the car’s first runs. This beastly Z06 has the ProCharged package with 19-20 pounds of boost, and LMR says it delivers 1,200 horsepower (there is also a $70,000, twin-turbocharged, 1,250-horsepower package on LMR’s site).

Once you get past the horrible-quality opening to the video, you’ll see a car that’s doing 9.6-second quarter-mile runs at its peak. You’ve been warned.
