Late Model Racecraft Supercharges C7 Corvette to 750 Horsepower

As of right now, you have a few different options for buying a Corvette. You could buy the base Stingray; or if you want a racecar version, you could buy the factory Z06; or if you simply want the base with more power, you can go to a worthy aftermarket builder like Late Model Racecraft.

LMR’s 750HP package gives the Corvette a similar setup to that of the Z06’s engine. For $10,000 less than the Z06, LMR uses a supercharger system with an air-to-air intercooler. It uses 1 7/8-inch stainless steel headers and an x-pipe with high-flow cats. NGK Spark Plugs are added, new Head bolts, and gasket installed, along with lifter trays, Comp OE Lifters, a Cam Package, and a Cam Phaser Kit. That pulls together to produce upwards of 750 horsepower, which is 100 horsepower more than the Z06, and 633 lb-ft of torque, which is 17 less than the Z06.

If you’re a straight-line kinda guy, that kind of power increase could be great without the weight of the added track parts. But if you’re looking to get into any type of racing with more than slight left turns, the extra power might hurt without the extra gear and setup to apply it to the road properly.

Either way, at least it’s a new option.
