New Z06 Owner is Sick of the Z06 Bashing

Some of the recent criticism of the new Corvette Z06 has really upset one owner.

GTSNRT10, who says he’s driven or owned most of the cars the Z06 is being compared to, recently started a Corvette Forum thread here expressing his displeasure over the bashing of the new higher-performance Corvette after losing in that street race to the Viper TA.

Noting that he usually doesn’t even post on threads, he went on to post a few notes of his own on the new Z06 after taking his to Deals Gap, also known as “The Tail of the Dragon”, which is about as good as it gets when it comes to seeing what a car like the Z06 is really capable of on the street.

“THIS CAR FAR EXCEEDS MY WILDEST DREAMS OF CAPABILITY THERE! I recorded a 10-minute run from the overlook to the state line with my wife in the car, and not exceeding 3,800 rpm, all in one lane, with an outside temp of 36 degrees. Very, very impressive,” writes GTSNRT10.

The Corvette owner goes on to list a few criteria he thinks would be a better judge for gauging the Z06 when deciding how it stacks up against other cars:

1. Overall performance (which means exactly that) acceleration, braking, handling, fun factor, etc.

2. Comfort for more than a 50-mile stint

3. Amenities: nav, stereo, Bluetooth, heated seats, etc.

4. Reliability

5. Wow factor, exclusivity

Hey, those seem like some pretty good standards if you ask me.
