OPTIMA Presents Corvette of the Week: Pre-Teen Dream to Reality
Most of us remember when our love affair began with the Corvette. For me, the date was May 26, 1992. I was seven, and when my dad brought home his black C4 six-speed convertible, out of my eye sockets popped two racing hearts. I haven’t had conventional vision since. It’s undeniable my first ride in that car changed my life.
For forum member “akn224” his Corvette love affair was kicked into high gear in 1996 when the C5 Corvette was introduced for the 1997 model year. akn224 was in junior high at the time, and the C5 was his dream car.
Earlier this month, akn224’s pre-teen dream became a reality when he purchased his first Corvette: a 2004 C5 with only 29,000 miles … not even broken in, if you ask me. akn224 says he’s ecstatic about the new addition to his life. I’d say “ecstatic” is an appropriate term for his experience. Getting the opportunity to purchase your dream car is one of the best experiences life has to offer.
