This Pro Tour Stingray Is Still Waiting to Hit Reserve

Online auctions are a funny thing. Due to wild bidding near the end of an auction, it’s almost impossible to predict what the price of a car will be, even just a few hours before bidding stops. But in this case, it stopped well short of reserve.

This particular Pro Tour Corvette, nicknamed “Silver Bullet,” has a massive 632-cubic-inch motor. The mild build on it results in 815 horsepower, but that should be plenty of ponies to clear away any competition. Other mods include some pretty extensive tubing, and an all new black interior. To handle all of the power, it has a Tremec 5-speed gearbox and 9-inch rear end.

All of that wasn’t enough for the eBay sale to even crack $65,000. After starting bids at $49,000, and having a total of 14 people up the ante, it still wasn’t enough to meet reserve. We are not quite sure what the reserve would be, but according to the dealer website, this stunning C2 currently would sell for $120,000. It’s a good thing they put a reserve on it, because bidding stopped at only $65,100.

What do you think it’s worth?
