Rally Red C2 Corvette Lands Starring Role in ‘Fast 8’

Guess who has landed a starring role in the next installment of The Fast and the Furious movie franchise?

Yup, you guessed it – this Rally Red 1966 Corvette. The sinister-looking C2 will be driven in next year’s Fast 8 by none other than Letty, played by actress Michelle Rodriguez.

Of course, most here at Corvette Forum are pretty familiar with the Rally Red ’66 Corvette, but the screen time in the upcoming film could potentially turn an entirely new fan base on to the ‘Vette, which can only add to its longstanding appeal as an iconic piece of American muscle.

All in all, just 3,366 1966 Rally Red Corvettes were made out of 27,720 models produced.

On second thought, make that 3,366 minus one, based on the spoiler shared by Rodriguez’s co-star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The pic above, posted on Johnson’s Instagram, shows the star walking away from the Corvette, which seems to have sustained some pretty serious damage in a wreck. Ouch.
