OPTIMA Presents Corvette of the Week: Z06 Fever Spreads in Europe
Maybe it’s just me, but the majority of expat Corvettes I’ve seen in Europe are C6 Z06s painted Velocity Yellow. Wouldn’t you agree?
Earlier this month, “akn224’s” pre-teen dream became a reality when he purchased his first Corvette: a 2004 C5 with only 29,000 miles … not even broken in, if you ask me.
When I was on the Gumball 3000, I really wanted to talk to the owners of this rally-wrapped C7. But as ridiculous as it sounds, I wasn’t able to make it happen over the course of the eight days of the Rally. I’m going to man up take the blame here—but it was nuts.
I have a suspicion volcanoes fear erupting, for it might piss off this particular Blue Devil.
The new Z06 is officially the most powerful production-spec Corvette ever, with 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. To celebrate this new wave of power that is headed to showrooms for the 2015 model year, let’s take a look back at an earlier-model Z06 for this edition of “Corvette of the Week”.
