I bet there’s no one that’ll be celebrating this Fourth of July weekend more than George Talley, and rightfully so. The GM retiree’s 1979 Corvette was stolen 33 years ago, but Talley was recently reunited with his long-lost friend at General Motors’ world headquarters in Detroit.

Last week George Talley received a call informing him that his 1979 Corvette that was stolen 33 years ago in Detroit had been found in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Imagine handing your Corvette keys to a repair shop and learning that an employee was using your car as his own personal transportation. Then imagine the look on your face when you realize the employee had racked up 11,000 miles on your beloved ‘Vette. Not a nice thing to imagine, right?
