When Imagination Attacks: 1975 “Corvette Summer” Custom C3

Sometimes you have to wonder what was going through someone’s head (or nose) when attempting to re-create a niche movie custom Corvette from the ’70s. If there’s a perfect example of that, it’s this one right here, recently posted on Craigslist in New Jersey. Made to look like the feature car in the movie Corvette Summer, this one actually comes pretty close to the original.

It’s not exactly subtle though. It sprouts a massive cowl above the hood, bright red paint, golden flames, and interesting fixed headlights. Out back there’s a massive Chevrolet bow-tie that I can only imagine acts as a brake light, with clear and amber lenses that flank it on either side. Overall, it’s a fairly faithful reproduction of the original, but it certainly will only be sold as a conversation piece. Perhaps that’s why it doesn’t have a price listed.

So what would something like this be worth? It doesn’t say much about the mechanicals of the car, other than the fact it has a manual transmission. We can only be left to guess what is under the multi louvered hood…
