Cost of brake job on a C6
Anyone have to replace their C6 brakes and if so, how much?
Just returned from Caddy dealer. $1240 to replace rotors and pads on my Brembos on the '05 CTS-V at 34,000mi. Ouch!! Rotors worn beyond acceptable tolerance to turn them. Pads even left a raised lip around the rotors.Mechanic said it's the first V he'd done for brakes.

That's outrageous! How much do the rotors cost?
Doing brakes is VERY easy and I would recommend just trying it yourself.
A brake job shouldnt take you more than 3 hours tops. Less once you know what you're doing.
I can pull a wheel, caliper and rotor and reassemble in about 15-20 minutes after it's jacked up...it's really only 5 lugnuts and 2 bolts to pull it off.

2 wheel or 4 wheel brake job? I'm not so sure the cost is "outrageous" but that would be based on Brembo parts costs. Brembos are NOT inexpensive to replace unless you use their OEM plain-face rotors.

That's why I asked what the cost of the rotors were....as I'm not sure.
At first glance the price seems outrageous, but you're right...it may not be.
But it IS a very easy do it yourself job for any nice weekend day.

It was all 4 wheels. Rotors for front were $155 ea.I paid $139-rotors for rear were $145 ea.I paid $130. Pad kits were $175 front. I paid $133. Rear kit $139. I paid $125. Labor $178 ea. for front and back. Never did brake work myself before, just carbs and headers. Really no place for me to do the work. Any way, thanks for the comments. Wonder what the C6 will cost?
