Do you have your build sheet?

Short of being lucky enough to retrieve one during a buyers tour at the assembly plant the only way to get it is to order a duplicate from the National Corvette Museum.

The build sheets are no longer hidden in the car. They are discarded at the end of the assembly process.

I was fortunate enough to get my build sheet at the end of the assembly line. However, I just got an e-mail from the NCM the other day that might interest you. It says in part, " Limited Year Corvette Build Sheet "Originals" Available
We have obtained a limited number of original Corvette build sheets from the Corvette Assembly Plant and are offering them for sale through our Resource Center . We have random build sheets on Corvettes produced from 2002-2007.
These are “not” reproduction copies and many are marked, tattered and worn from the journey through the build process. Contact the Resource Center at: (800) 53-VETTE to find out if your 2002-2007 build sheet is available prior to purchase. "
If you go to their website http://www.corvettemuseum.com/
look at the third item of information in the center of the home page.
I hope this helps.

I got the replica build sheet for my 08 from NCM. I think it was $30 with the member discount. It came unfolded in a huge envelope. Very cool to have!

Got my build sheet during my museum pickup, but why cant they just stick the original sheet in the car golve box etc when the car leaves the factory. What is the big deal about this? It should be part of every car that is sent out! I sure would like to have my original that was on the car as it headed down the line instead of a copy laminated at the museum!

Best way is through the Buyer's Tour or R8C. I got one at the end of my Buyer's Tour and then another when I picked up my car at the NCM. Each of those experiences is worth recommending even if you didn't get a build sheet as part of the process.
A good alternative for those who can't travel to BG is to order a build sheet through the NCM.

They would go nuts...trust me!
The build sheets at my plant are rather large compared to the rather small glove box in the Vette. They would have to wrinkle it up into a tiny ball to fit in there.
Although sad but true, GM just figured out another way to make some more money

Have my original, dog eared, fingerprint smudges, a faint footprint. It has character... Have it laminated, proudly displayed in the garage.

Yes, get it through the museum. Ordered a repo one about six months ago then they advertised they some of the orginals. Orderd that one as well. The orginal has markings on it where it went through the build process. Do get them laminated. They are about $40.00.

Does anyone have the 'key' to decode what's on the build sheet(PM me if you have the codes). Some things are obvious, but most are unitelligble. Also it does not have the 'build date'. What kinda deal is that.
Will get mine lamenated someday.

The build sheet does not, nor has it ever had the build date on it. The build sheet is the process instruction and routing that the car takes while it is being built. Since the build sheet is the instruction for the car, it needs to be produced prior to the car. No real way for it to get printed with the build date since when it is printed there isn't even a car. It is usually made a week to two weeks ahead of the start of the final assembly of the car and travels with the other sub assemblies of the vehicle that will all come together with the car on the final assembly line.
The codes on the build sheet are simply part numbers, reference codes or bin numbers. There is no database of those codes publicly available. If you have something specific you would like answered post it here. These do not necessarily speak to options nor RPO's. For example, the other information on the build sheet is specific to what electrical harness they are using and that will tie to what other features are installed in the car based on the PEG (1LT, 2LT, 3LT).
