OK, I'm old but I still need to learn new tricks.

What is the recommended way to easily get into and out of a C6 Corvette? I am sure that there is a process that I should follow to minimize the problems with this.

I am an old guy too, with a bad hip. Getting in is easy once you get going gravity takes over. Getting out I put my hand on the rocker panel for an added boost. I will never give up the Corvette even if I have to crawl out. Good Luck.

hey neighbor! well, I guess there are many ways, but the easiest for me is to back into it and then swing my legs around. sometimes I put my foot in first.

getting out, I make sure to push up on the door sill using it as leverage with two legs out.

whatever you do just remember there are those little seat bolsters that supposedly wear out real fast if you keep sliding over them . I'm sure it happens to some, but hasn't happened to me in any of the Vettes I've owned.

From what I've read lately, the process is very simple:
1. Make sure you are wearing the proper clothing - no blue jeans, overalls, coarse materials, dark colored clothing, or anything with coarse stitching:

2. Go through a metal detector to insure that no metal objects are in any pocket or in close proximity:

3. Assume a lotus position adjacent to the driver's door:

4. Levitate up and through the open targa top or open convertible top:

5. Gently lower yourself into the fully reclined seat.

There - no problems, eh?

Have the auto exit seat position set for all the way back. Have the steering wheel tilted up. Then I put one foot in, followed by the other as I lower myself into the seat, while holding onto the console and the steering wheel.

If you have memory seats the auto exit feature is great for ingress and egress. I have mine set so when I open the door the seat goes all the way back and the steering wheel retracts toward the dash. Then I tilt the steering wheel all the way up. Then once you get in push the memory button and the seat goes to your setting and then tilt the steering wheel back down.

I'm pretty much doing the same things as you are.

Yes, it was my concern for the wear and tear of the seats that caused my to post this thread in the first palce.

usually just back it in and then swing the legs in. seat is in exit mode (all the way back) to help. getting out is same as above. I am only 61 so not sure I qualify as an old guy yet!

Or, once you are seated and close the door, simply start the engine and the seats and steering wheel will go to your memory setting......

Erm... I just get in an out just like any other car... I don't get what the difficulty is; its not like we are talking about a small car here...?

June next year. I refer to myself as experienced which seems to ease the pain of getting older by the day. Neat thing is when I am in the car or on my bikes I feel 29 ........... again!
