Default Supercharging - Any Regreats To Those Who Have?

I've made the decision recently to supercharge my 08 LS3 in the next couple of months and have heard a lot of great things, read a number of threads from happy customers, but what about those who wished they hadn't?

Is there such a thing, and if so, why?

Thanks for the feedback!

None at all, the car is a blast and is the best mod I've done.

Just be aware that like any mod, things may not always turn out the way you think or go smoothly no matter how great the reputation of the shop doing the install.

No regrets here. The car still performs well as a DD if need be and has gobs of power when I want to play.

Would love to supercharge mine. There really isn't a downside to more power unless something breaks in which case you're warranty would be void.

A guy who was at Corvettes at Bondurant threw a belt twice in one day. I'm not bashing Supercharger...but stuff happens....with any car.

I installed my ProCharger within the first year after I purchased my new 2005. It's provided me 6+ years of enjoyment and I have never thrown a belt. Actually, I replaced the Gates belt that came with the kit with a Goodyear Gator Back within one month of the install, just because I heard it was a better choice. That belt lasted until the Fall of last year when I ditched it when installing a Flip-Drive.

So, if the supercharger is installed properly, the belt is not an issue, IMHO!

Forced induction is the cheapest bang for your performance buck.

Do it.

Last May on my '10 GS. E-Force. Nothing but fun. Absolutely no problems so far, and just continues to amaze me every time I drive it. Drives like stock then will scare the hell out of you when you get on it. All good.

Not much need, you can make good HP without a cam. For built set ups it's a no brainer, you should upgrade.

A resent post on the Corvette Forum reflected the fact that his supercharged engine blew-up during the process of getting it "tuned", so all does not always go well, but don't expect many to admit to their monstrous failures due to installing a supercharger. Nobody likes to admit to their stupidity. At very best, your engine life will be reduced considerably. Want a reliable supercharged C6? Buy a ZR1. It comes with a full factory warranty, not only on the engine, but the whole power train that delivers all that extra horsepower to the ground.
