ZO6, is it Z "zero" 6 or.....
Settle this for a buddy and me, what is correct Z "zero" "0" alpha-numeric, or Z "o" as in the letter "o"
What do the letters in this RPO (ZO6) stand for?
Thanks guys.

It is Z zero 6... Just like Z28 or F51 e.t.c.
Z06 has become another famous RPO (regular production order?) code like L88 Z28 LT1 and LS1 it specifies a single, or group of hardware options.
It starts with 1 letter followed by 2 numbers. I'm sure there are a bunch of people on here that can be more specific but that is my general understanding.

It's written Z06 w/ a zero and pronounced Z06 with an O... Atleast, I've never heard some one say "Z-zero-six" :D

Options are put in different groups
Engines: L
Suspension: F
Brakes: J
A/C: C
etc.
Z: is used for special options i.e. Z28, Z06, I had an 83 Monte Carlo SS it was option Z65. But it is a definite ZERO not an "OH".
I think there was even a 63 or 64 full size Chevy Impala that had aluminum body panels and was a Z16, but that was a long time ago when the original Z06 Corvette was born.

In 1963 it was an RPO, today it is a model just like coupe and convertible.
