I agree, I am not happy about the whole situation. This was only one person at one Dealership, others may be more willing to work with us.

More humor. With still no word on this kit, I went through GM support to try to get more information. The support person did try his best but the "Corvette technical specialists" he talked to told him that not only is there no such upgrade kit, but the 2016 doesn't have a secondary cooler.
Just wow.

This entire issue with the A8 has been a joke. I went as far as filing a complaint with Chevrolet. Biggest joke ever. They completely blew me off. The "FIX" will never happen. They have pushed it off since November 2015. I just this past weekend put on a new Transmission cooler and a new radiator. Both made by LG. First event is May 7 so that will tell if it works or I do have to add a secondary cooler in addition to the new bigger trans cooler I just installed. Best bet is just to add the coolers yourself. Gonna be about the same money from Chevrolet than another company. Good luck all and will post my results when I am back. ALI has been the best help on this subject. FYI to all

I went one step further and sold my brand new 2015 Z51, with 1500 miles on it. I was fed up and tired of getting jacked around by GM about the A8 limp mode problem if you track the car. They new about this and sold me a so called track ready car >> which was pure BS.
I'm going to order a 2017 1LE Camaro in June with 6 speed - rev match, and is truly a bargain track weapon. I will put $20K back in the bank and never buy another Corvette as long as I live.
This was a big investment to get screwed
I hope to read this Tad !

Tadge's answer makes it clear they are listening to customer's issues about overheating on track and are going to be first providing a solution for the Z51 A8. Keep the solutions coming I say.
This proves the true benefit of this ask Tadge section. Our cars can only keep getting better from it.

Lets approach this in a different way.
JVP, can we nominate a question as requesting up update for previous answered questions?
Example, ask Tadge to share with us some updates and expected release dates for questions he answered almost a year ago.
1) C7 Z06 optional cooling pack.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-or-other.html
2)Z51 transmission cooler kit release date. It was indicated in the answer the kit would be available at the end of 2015.

I took my stingray to Hallett race track in Oklahoma and the tranny over heated but my buddy z51 was running very cool. So does this mean that I am stuck with a vette that cannot be put through some aggressive driving?

I have been following this thread for a while and it was why I decided against the Z06. There are owners here that swear up and down there is NO ISSUE WITH OVERHEATING while tracking their car. Hmmm

Some more field stats for the A8 at TWS
I ran at Texas World Speedway a short time back. Max speed on the banked straight was 146mph. Air temp during the run was 86 F. 2015 C7 Z51. Mods - Z06 front grill, Z06 quarter panel inlet scoops, LG Motorsports transmission cooler (replacing stock trans cooler)

So I had put on the new LG cooler, LG radiator and the ZO6 fan Z06 Grille and Side Scoops. Went to race Hallett last week. On the track 9 minutes. Car went into limp mode over heated so bad I could hardly get off the track. Car was jerking would not hard shift. When I got off the track I shut the car off. After several hours and a carpet fan to cool the transmission down. The car would hardly start. Plus so mush more I can not even say everything that happened. So IMO the LG stuff is crap and does not do what it is supposed to. The car is gone and I picked up my new Z06 yesterday manual transmission.

Question guys (not an Ask Tadge question request but for the guys in this thread that have tracked their Auto C7's), does it help or make any difference whether you leave it in D (auto mode) or use the paddle shifters in M mode? I know engine oil temperature will be cooler if you manually higher lower gears, but strictly speaking of the transmission fluid temp here?
I've tracked mine 3 days in total now, and the last time the outside temperature was unusually high for where I live (about 90 F), and that was the first time I got a transmission overheat warning and "limp mode" where it automatically shifts at 5500 rpm.
1) I'm thinking next time would make any difference whether I used paddles or not?
2) Also do the Z06 rear quarter inlets make much/any difference? I'm running the original ones but would switch if it helps.
3) Does it make any difference if you do a transmission fluid flush earlier than what's recommended in the manual? Would doing so help at all?
Mine is a 14 A6 Z51.
Thanks.

It will make a difference if you use paddles. In fact after you get the temp warning I was told to shift it into paddle mode for a few laps until it cools down.
The Z06 quarter panel vents have to make a difference because it catches more air. However, has a scientific study been done to confirm that??? probably not.
Not sure if the transmission flush would do any good. What does the most good is putting the additional transmission cooler in the front of the car.
