Why was the warranty period on the Corvette reduced?
Tadge,
Would you be able to provide any information as to why GM has chosen to reduce the warranty term on the Corvette powertrain from 5/100 to 3/36? Was this due to an influx of consumers abusing their powertrains causing a larger than expected warranty claim percentage? or maybe even just the opposite, was the warranty period shortened due to the majority of Corvette owners keeping such low mileage on their Vette's that it was determined that the higher mileage warranty was not necessary?
Thanks,
Anthony

It wasn't just on the Corvettes, it was across the board for all GM products. And it's not to 3/36; that's the bumper-to-bumper. It was 5/60, I thought. Same length of time, lower miles.
