C6 transmission fluid temperature

C6 transmission fluid temperature
I have 2007 c6 with an auto tranny, I recently serviced the tranny with new filter and new fluid, and noticed that the temp raises quickly starting it up in the morning with in 5mins the temp goes up to about 100 degrees, and depending on traffic it fluctuates between 150 the highest I've seen it reach is 232. I've read that normal temp should raise slowly and should average around 150-180 to keep the tranny healthy, should I be concerned? Is that normal? Forgot to mention it is a 2007 with about 154k miles thank you

I rarely drive my car but I remember seeing 170-180, sometimes higher. That would be about normal. If you run it hard in a hot climate or in traffic 200+ temps would not be unusual.

In my experience, if this is the first time you have changed the transmission fluid at 154K miles and are still able to drive the car, you are the luckiest person on the planet. Typically what happens is the new detergent-filled fluid immediately starts cleaning the case and you end up with crap in your valve body which keep the box from shifting properly. Once that happens, it's off to the shop for a rebuild.
The temperatures you are quoting and the warm-up time sound normal to me as well. I would just keep driving and enjoy the car without worrying too much.

So this didn't seem right to me...
2007 Base A6
Within the last 6K miles I installed a new radiator. 2K miles ago I changed my ATF at 150K miles.
1K miles ago I lost my drive belt and overheated the coolant. So there is new perfectly mixed clean coolant in the radiator.
Tonight 60 miles and it was 43* outside temperature.
My Transmission Temp never went past 151*.
So maybe your car is functioning correctly?

I believe for 2007 A-6's, the transmission cooling lines run to the right hand side of the radiator. The left side of the radiator may have engine oil cooling lines. Using the radiator to cool the oil, eventually 5he transmission oil is going to warm up to be close to that of the engine coolant. I queried GM about that and was told the oil temp may be plus or minus 20 degrees of what the coolatest temp is.I run into this at the racetrack, when coolant temp hits 220, the transmission is at 240 at which time I'll slow down and take a couple of cool down laps. There is a point where the car will go into limp mode, I think it's around 280 or so but don't recall exactly.
So temp wise you are okay, it does seem a little erratic so I wonder if you have an air bubble in the radiator portion of the line such that the oil isn't making full contact with the cooler.

Getting to 100 in five minutes is not really a fast rise in temperature, unless you live in a very cold place. If you live in LA, then the trans started out at 70 degrees, so that's only 30 degrees in the five minutes.
