Owners manual reference to high rear axle temp
I have a 2015 Z51 7-speed manual with 2000 miles that I'm planning on taking to it's first HPDE. There is one issue that I'm not clear on:
Page 9-7 of the Owners Manual says: "During a first time track event high rear axle temperatures can occur... Do not drive as LONG or as FAST the first time on the track... Damage could be caused and would not be covered by warranty".
I have not been able to find any recommendation as to speeds or duration. Would dropping back to the green run group (at NCM MSP) be suitably "not as fast"? Would a two day event be "too long" even if each day consisted of only four 20-25 min sessions?
Finally would it be ok to drive about 670 miles back to my home dealer before having the rear axle fluid changed?
I want to ensure that I do everything possible to properly care for this wonderful vehicle. Thanks for your advice!
