Thinking of installing performance headers on the Vette..2007 C6.....questions being..any HP increase? Do they need to be welded to the pipes or is there a set that can be put on with out any welding? How much increase in noise would be heard in the cockpit? Thank you for any help on this topic....

Hi

This forum is for questions for the Corvete chief engineer. You might do better in the general forum where really good folks can help.

To answer your questions... yes, headers will give you more HP. How much exactly? depends on related mods. I would say, do a CAI as well. More air in , more air out is the key. Yes it will make more noise/ drone. I have a 2007 as well, Did the LG long tube with hi-flow cats , x pipe and Borla muffs out back. K & N Cai and tune gave me approx 27 hp. Hope this helps..good luck.

They all bolt on. You will need a tune to get the most benefit out of them and to turn off the rear O2 sensors.

I went with Hinson for mine and I love them, new they're $829 shipped to your door, but you could easily find some used for cheaper. I'll add the link for you below. They bolt right on and require no welding.
heres a sound clip with some B&B NPP catback.

I've heard 20 to 30 HP with a tune many times on this forum.

there is basically no increase in noise in cockpit if you get a set that is catted and keep the stock mufflers

Getting them ceramic coated will reduce underhood temps somewhat, and keep them looking good as well.

The biggest downside of headers is the heat with can damage near by components. So IMHO ceramic coating is a must.
