Default The "Warble Noise"

What is your take on the "warble noise" so heavily discussed in the C7
General Discussion forum?

Since Tadge doesn't read the forums, you're going to have to be more specific.

My bad. I didn't know that. Maybe someone else will be up to explaining all over again the infamous warble noise-I'm tired of it in every sense of the word.

Default Warble Noise

This warble noise is a frustrating issue that many of our members are dealing with. Their respective dealers have tried changing entire exhaust systems, transmissions, differentials, half shafts, fluids, etc., all to no avail. Engineers from Detroit have come out to place sensors in one of these vehicles--"a harmonic imbalance." That vehicle is now being sent to Detroit for analysis and hopefully, a "FIX" for all with this problem.

In addition, a video of this issue has been sent to Mary Barra, CM CEO. The members having this exact same noise at "1,500 RPM" on a
"Grade with Steady Acceleration" seem to be all C7 A8 Base Models (non Z51).

Any input from you would go a long way. A forum member made a copy of this problem, currently on You Tube. Here is the link:
.

Thank you for your valued attention.

I'm really sorry you folks are having issues with your cars.

Then it seems like a good idea to wait for that troubleshooting to end before trying to contact:

In addition, a video of this issue has been sent to Mary Barra, CM CEO.
..the CEO of GM. Or the VLE of the Corvette.

I have been dealing with the dealer and Exec office for months - since the second or third day of ownership. Dealer has advised me to pursue lemon law against GM because GM can't tell them how to fix it. Ask Tadge how he feels about that.

I am in the middle of the lemon law at present. I sent certified FINAL REPAIR OPPORTUNITY NOTICE to GM on tuesday. Love the car but if GM can't fix it I want them to buy the car back and I will purchase another without the warble noise hopefully.

Thats awesome - My pickup does EXACTLY the same thing! Can I get a new truck? Mine is just like new 2010 Silverado with 212,000km on the clock and it makes this noise if I drive real slow in high gear, It's actually kind of fun to see how much vibration I can get before it goes back into V8 mode

oops - did I spill the beans? could this be GM's much vaunted Active Fuel Management that gets your Corvette that 30mpg?

Don't waste your time - be happy with the 460hp - you could be driving a turbo 4cyl...

Thanks for the advice Doug but I believe I will try and get GM to make good on the car I paid a lot of money for without the warble. I am retired so I have a lot of time to waste. I am very happy with the 460hp and didn't buy the car for the 30 mpg so that is a mute point. Maybe you should post your problem on the chevy truck forum. Again thanks for your insight.

Well like you I am retired and my Z51 is the first Corvette I've owned - it's a bucket list type of thing.

Another bucket list item was going to track day at a local track - Mosport - you may have heard about it - we are kinda proud of it and it is partly owned by Ron Fellows of Spring Mountain fame.

Anyways here is the footage - I was in the beginners class so I had to follow the instructor and couldn't pass - but I had a great time anyway!

I have a 2015 Z51 A8 vert and have this same problem, at any speed with light throttle when in V4 mode and around 1500 RPM.

That is going to be tough for the engineers to fix. It almost sounds like it is at wheel speed.

Mine was just repurchased. No more warble at 1500 rpm, no more growl at 1000 rpm, no more dealing with poor customer service.
