Pioneer bluetooth mic placement???
Where are people mounting the mic? I am modding my bezel and am considering putting it in the upper left corner. Will it work well enough there? I would put it through a grommet as shown.
Any opinions on whether or not it will work or how it will look?

Le Mans Master
I think it will work just fine there. I usually mount mine on top of the mirror because regardless of knowing the mic will pick up no matter where I point my head, human nature(ok, maybe my nature) is going to be to speak into the mic and I'd rather it be "heads up."

How do I loosen the surrounding molding to be able to get the wire put back there to go up the the visor? Pull the middle down first?
I was thinking of first testing placement and then maybe putting it inside the visor, cutting the visor open carefully and mounting well with the mic sticking out a little but being at the visor tip.

Drifting
I actually mounted mine right under the mirror, It picks up pretty well even if the top is off and there is less wind buffeting at that location also.
As to running the wire, it was easy to "stuff" the wire under the top molding and the sides just pull off, after that it's just routing...

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input. I am backing off the radio bezel idea. All the other mount places avoid drilling the bezel and are closer to your face and pie hole.

Melting Slicks
Well I tried to be creative with mine and drilled a small hole in the temp sensor next to the ignition. It works OK, but get blocked a little by the steering wheel. Ill probably move it. But at least all I have to replace is the small plastic cover, should be cheap. The mic looks nice and clean there though...oh well

Did you mount it the visor? If so how did it work?

My mic is mounted at the top inside corner of the driver side A-pillar, just above the factory on-star location. Works great. I can actually use the phone at 65MPH with the top down. Can't imagine a better location. Also picks up conversation from the passenger.

Awesome! Do you have a pic?

I don't have a pic but I will see if I can get one. Basically, the Mic I have (came with the DNX7100) is clipped to the A-pillar cover just above the stock MIC location. No one could see if it it was not pointed out.
