Default Hey Audiophiles here's the stereo part of my huge winter mod project

Click the link in my sig for the full thread on the targa conversion and re-paint w/ pics etc.

For the stereo part I'm just going with some insulation, an new HU w/ XM and a Vrumvrum face plate.

Started off w/ eDead and will follow up w/ ensolite when the car is done with paint.

Here's the HU w/ vrum vrum plate.

Here's a few other pics of the project underway. Yes that's me taking an air jigsaw to the roof!

Exactly... hence me doing it w/ the help of Mike, Mark, and Gary. I tried emailing Caravaggio for a parts list to make it easier, even offered to pay for it, but got nothing from them.

Sourced it all out myself... it's been fun

excellent job laying that mat down, especially in so few pieces.

One thing that will help a TON, is attach 1/4" mdf to the spaces behind the seats on that back wall to stiffen them up. Liquid nails it to the edead, then edead over it.

I would say by far, this is the part of the car that needs the most stiffening.

I agree... but being 6'4" I put my seat back and generally have it resting on that pannel so I don't want to loose any more room than I allready will w/ the eDead and Ensolite. I hvae 3 layers on those panels

You won't. I'm 6'7 and I have so much material added to that panel it could choke Rosie O'Donnell.

(about half a gallon of liquid mat, 3 layers of raamat, a layer of luxury liner, a layer of ensolite... and more...)

You could also us a thin gauge aluminum sheet. Pretty much anything to reinforce that crappy panel will help a ton.

I like MDF because it blocks sound too.
