Default Looking for 2004 switched ignition power

I'm installing an after market HU and have been told to look in the passenger side footwell for an unused 3 lead harness and to tap into the yellow wire for my switched power. I'm having trouble locating this and recently read a post referring to the fact that the 2004 model year may not have this harness. Can anyone confirm and if so where is the best place to tap into switched power?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

if you can't find that 3wire harness, its behind that removable panel in the upper left hand corner, then you can tape into fuse #22.

Thanks for the post DPG. It appears GM did not include this extra harness in the 2004 model year as confirmed by others. I will use fuse slot #22 as you suggest to pull the switched power from.

Hey Neighbor. Roseville here.

#22 didn't work for me, I had to tap the ignition.

What are you installing?

I'm installing a Kenwood Excelon X991 head unit (audio only) with new speakers and amps. I thought I had the issue covered until you said #22 didn't work for you. Guess I'll have to check it out and maybe move to plan B. A couple of folks have mentioned your comment of using the ignition wire so maybe I'll look for that. Consensus seems to be that it is brown and I should be able to find it with the dash apart which it currently is!
