I can't get my freaking passenger door panel loose....how long are those fu**ing retainers....the bottom ones won't budge and I don't want to break stuff.
The C5 panels pop off easy

They're prob 1.25 to 1.5" long with ridiculous grip. Pick up the blue panel tools from Harbor Freight, they work exceptionally well. I prob used 2 or 3 tools at a time.

ok I give up...it ain't budging and it seems they snap back in as I try and move around...I will let someone else do it so if they break it they can fix it...hell I could have had the C5 door panel off and back on by now

I used a cheap plastic set of panel tools from Amazon ($2.70), took them a month to arrive...good thing I'd ordered them before I bought the car. They just happened to be in the mailbox on the same day my speakers arrived.
Starting at the access opening on the bottom I used up to three of the four tools at a time to get the panel loose and to keep the pins I'd already freed from popping back in as I worked my way around the panel.

Door Panel
Thanks for the write up! I just used it to remove my driver's side door panel and fix the window, which was not going down all the way after I had some body work done.
I just wanted to post in case somebody else had this issue. The wiring harness inside the driver's door has a loop in it at the forward end. If the little plastic mount breaks, the loop can get under the window and stop it from moving down all the way. It will stop about 3 inches from the bottom. I removed the panel and the speaker, then just wire tied the harness to another one at the front of the door.
BTW, The 2 screws under the little plastic panel are Torx types.
Problem Solved...
