Is there a way to have Sirius instead of XM in an 08 with the stock, non-nav radio?

I am pretty sure Sirius and XM are now the same... I am getting Sirius channels (thank God!) on my '07 Silverado (OEM equipped XM)

I know the two companies merged, and I've heard that some of the Sirius stations are available, but I was sure how any of that would work. It's easier to add a radio to my existing Sirius account than start a whole account with XM, plus I'd hate to sign up with XM only to find out that I can't get the stations and programs I want. Sounds like I need to look into the programing that's available.
