C6 xm aux input
How to add aux in on a C6 with changer and/or xm
There are a few diff versions of this thread floating around but I am writing my own version that is done slightly differently. The way this works is that when nothing is plugged into the jack xm will function like normal and once you plug the wire in you will be using the aux input
Parts needed
aux jack

1/8 to 1/8 wire

You will also need some wire to hook this up, cat5 works very well. Pick up a cheap patch cable and clip the ends.
You are either going to need to pull the radio and splice back there or at the xm or changer. Personally the headunit is my choice since its easier to mount jack in the counsel or dash somewhere
Wire colors are same at both the changer/xm/or radio. On the radio its the smaller of the two plugs. Here are the three wires we will work with
Right Audio Green/White
Left Audio Brown/White
Common Audio Tan/White
We will cut the right and left audio wires but leave room to work on each side. You will need to use wire to extend these to the jack
Here is a pic of the jack wiring
Pin 1 - splice into the tan/white wire
Pin 2 - Brown/white going to radio
Pin 3 - Brown/white going away from radio
Pin 4 - Green/white going away from radio
Pin 5 - Green/white going to radio
it is very important not to mix these wires up or it will not work right
you can't simply splice the brn/white and grn/white wires you must actually cut them. otherwise you would have the xm and mp3 player trying to play at the same time

Let me
See if I have this right. I get this jack and will need to solder 3 wires onto
PIN 1 then splice onto tan/white wire at Radio or XM
PIN 2 then splice onto brown/white wire going to radio at Radio or XM
PIN 5 then splice onto green/white wire going to radio at Radio or XM
