Default help with wiring

Currently I have a single D2 ohm sub wired at 4 ohms running from a bridged 2 channel amp and all is well with the world.

I'm considering a dual box and adding another sub. I already have another D2 ohm sub that I'd like to add.

Question can I just wire this addtional sub to 4 ohms and connect to the bridged amp or will that create a 1 load ohm problem?

Thanks in advance.

The amp is a ppi1000.4
Its rated at 250x4 at 2 ohms.

So based on that I want the most power to the subs and have safe condition for the amp. Ideally I'd run a pair of 2 ohm subs in stereo mode and each would get the full 250 watts.

Right now with the amp bridged to a 4 ohm load, it should "see" 2 ohms and the sub gets 500 watts.

It seems to me that adding another 4 ohm load will change what the amp "sees" to 1 ohm.

I have a bunch of options to series/parallel the two subs as well as the load of each (4 or 1 ohm). Thoughts?

Check out this site: http://www.bcae1.com/

Scroll down to item 58 to see how to calculate the load on the amp.

Thanks, that confirms what I suspected.
