Will my amp work with 2 10" JL W7's?
I have a Pioneer GM-D8400M and i want to get the Vettenuts corner sub boxes with the JL 10w3v3 2ohm..
I would want to run 2 10's off of this amp.. is it enough power? is it too much?
Amp Specs
mono subwoofer car amplifier
300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
variable low-pass filter (40-240 Hz)
wired bass control (variable 0 to 12 dB boost at 50 Hz)
CEA-2006 compliant
preamp- and speaker-level inputs
fuse rating: 30A x 2
frequency response: 10-240 Hz
requires 4-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
13"W x 2-1/4"H x 7-15/16"D
Sub Specs
10" 2-ohm subwoofer
mineral-filled polypropylene cone with nitrile-butylene rubber surround
power range: 100-500 watts RMS
peak power handling: 1000 watts
frequency response: 25-250 Hz
sensitivity: 85.37 dB
top-mount depth: 5-7/8"
sealed box volume: 0.625 cubic feet
ported box volume: 1.25 cubic feet
Any help would be great
Thanks
Jon

However, since you already have the amp, if it were my car I believe I'd go with ONE 2ohm sub at an available 600wRMS. That should kick pretty hard in a vette

The reason i want to keep the amp is i have an AVIC Z2 and i switched out all my speakers for Pioneers and i have 2 Amps, one for the speakers and one for the sub.. I plan to mount one amp behind each seat.
But from what i have read i should get the 4ohm versions?
I know im a noob with stereos but could any of you explain why i would want two 4 ohm sups when my amp is 2 ohm?
Not trying to argue to keep the 2 ohm subs just need a little knowledge..
Thanks again guys you are awesome..

The amp will function properly with either a 2 ohm load or 4 ohm load. 1 ohm will most likely let the smoke out.
Look at the specs you posted, the amp puts out twice the power when only supplying 2 ohms, so it makes sense to do that.
One sub with plenty of power is more than enough in a car as small as a vette.
A single 2 ohm sub wired to that amp would receive 600wRMS. The sub spec says 500wRMS max, but 600 is close enough, and it will only see that when you have the volume cranked all the way up, so the sub will be fine connected that way.
A PAIR of subs, that have an end resistance of 2 ohms as seen by the amp, would get 300wRMS each.
If you install a SINGLE sub, get the 2 ohm version, it will be twice as loud as the 4 ohm sub.
If you want to install TWO SUBS, get the 4 ohm versions so you can wire them in parallel. The amp will see them as a single 2 ohm load. If you got the 2 ohm subs you would have to connect them in series, which would be a 4 ohm load on the sub (parallel would be 1 ohm load), so each would only get 150wRMS.
Check out lesson #58 HERE if you don't understand how series/parallel wiring works.

If you do choose the 1 sub option wired at 2 ohm, I would keep the gain at a reasonable level as not to push the sub over its RMS rating regularly. It will shorten the life of your sub in the long run, and void the warranty.

If i had to change anything it would be the Amp to go with the subs.. i want the Vettenuts corner boxes and hoped my amp wouldnt need replaced.. from what he says i should be good to go..
