Not positive, but I believe the currently unreleased 'adapter' should fix the issues.

I received the 30 pin to lightning adapter yesterday and connected to my Kenwood. Everything works thru the Ipod cable.

That's what the adapter does, lets iphone5 connect to the 'old' docking connector plugs. CLICK HERE

Thanks, I was thinking of the adapters as more for folks with all the old 30 pin to USB cords and docking stations, etc., that needed the adapter to use with the new phone

I believe that the issue is that the new lightning connector is digital. The new adapter converts digital to analog to allow for audio pass through. I have to get an adapter for my HU.

I have my iphone5 with the lightning connector/usb now working - I did not need the 30 pin adapter. i read in the general c6 forum that the trick is is cycle on/off the phone after it is plugged in the console usb - that is all it took
