According to Google Play, the RaceChrono app is compatible with this device and has "Internal GPS support" and "Bluetooth GPS support up-to 20hz (for superior accuracy over internal GPS)." Please post some screen shots here once you have it up and running!

That 4.4 unit looks interesting. Kind of unclear on the manufacturer and model number, so can't search for a thread on it.

There's also this 4.4 unit, but they aren't quite shipping yet according to the XDA thread on it.

Note the one I shared is a quad core. But the user interface seems kind of meh.

I'd love to hear more about the 4.4 Pumpkin unit. One thing I am wondering about it how that 3G dongle works. Does it take a SIM card? How do you connect it to a carrier without a phone #?

As the product description, it can support 3G Dongle they also sell 3G Dongle. Also support SIM CARD, Bluetooth, OBD2, with free mic. And support 1024 x 600, but need to pay extra $60 for it.

Sounds everything good. I would plan to buy in the near future. If your guys who have ever bought from the pumpkin, please shared the review.

GSM dongles do take a SIM card (newer CDMA dongles may as well). Dongles are essentially phones without a user interface. The head unit uses a dongle (or a phone) to connect to the network and serves as a wi-fi hot-spot to enable other devices in the car.

The KD-C0224 looks nice, though I much prefer *****. The KD-C0223 appears to be a 4.4 Kitkat version of my JY-C0227 / GS-C0219, which came with 4.2 Jelly Bean but can be upgraded to later versions of Android according to the FAQ:

A: android unit can update the 4.4 kitkat. If you bought unit from ebay, amazon or other, please contact it after-sale service. Any questions please feel free to let me know.

Yes, according to the listed specifications, the double-din installation size is the same 178(L)×142(W)×100(H)mm for both models (6.95" vs. 6.2" screen).

800*480(WVGA) works out to 150 ppi for the 6.2" display and 132 ppi for the 6.95" display. Do you think that's insufficient for a head unit mounted in the dash 2-3 feet away? It looks great to me!

No, I'm sure yours looks great; I just don't see the point of going larger to 6.95" and keeping the resolution the same. It doesn't look as sharp in the vid. I'll probably go with the 4.4 version of yours.

Come on, folks. The Subscribe to this Thread option under Thread Tools works just fine on this and every other BBS I've used over the past 20 years.

Back on topic, the following video shows how to update this HU from 4.2.2 to 4.4.4 using this firmware update. My HU works great as is, and the enhancements are not particularly relevant to me, so I will likely wait for 5.0.
