Default Anyone using an Ipod with their HU?

I been playing with my Pumkin 4.4 HU for almost 2 weeks now and really enjoy it. Excellent choice for the money. Anyway, I'm using a 32g Ipod touch with the unit and it seems to have a hard time pulling up all my music. I got over 3100 songs on the Ipod and the HU seems to have a hard time handling it. Anyone else using a Ipod with this unit?

So if I am doing the installation will I still need the SWC interface?? Even thou I will be doing the same as u and bypassing it. From what I gather this HU doesn't have the SWC input. My car is non Bose and I honestly don't plan on using OnStar. Which adapte/interface would be best?

I don't know what interface is most appropriate for a different HU in a car with different options but would guess that an interface is unnecessary for SWC and necessary for other things. Good luck!

If you have the same HU direct-remote-wire feature as in the post above, then no SWI needed

If you don't need OnStar to be functional get the C2R-GM24 (or whatever it's being called today )

Well ordered the radio I mentioned earlier in the thread. Car was broken into over this past weekend and they tried to steal the Jensen unit. Apparently decided to beat the hell out of it after they couldn't get it out.

Went to the body shop today to meet the adjuster. $2700.00 in damage to the Front Console/Radio bezel, A/C controller, for Radio replacement, new battery since apparently the alarm was flashing the lights half the night and killed the battery, and diagnostic sine every warning light on the dash is lit up..

Good new is It's being fixed and DHL tried to deliver the new radio today while I was out. Hopefully this weekend I'll get her installed. I am going for the quick install first and run through the bose amp and speakers till I get time to amp it and go with separate speakers.

Will post up how it goes or will be asking a few questions likely.

At least you're getting everything fixed up right.

Alright, I got my unit installed today (temporary mount until my modified bezel arrives). Everything seems to work awesome except the illumination wire.

I got the XSVI-2004 harness which has an illumination wire on it, but the Android unit does not dim nor do its button lights turn on when I turn on the headlights. The button lights do work when I go in to the settings to change the color, so I know they operate.

I plan on doing some troubleshooting (and probably end up tapping in to the HVAC illumination wire) when I permanently mount it, but for now just thought I'd ask on here if anyone had any trouble with that part.

Why would the XSVI-2004 have a wire that the instructions say to connect to your headunit's illumination wire if it doesn't work...

Ugh. Products these days. At least my speakers work flawlessly.

The interface is made for multiple vehicles, blame it on GM for not putting an illumination wire in the stock radio harness of a vette

I figured that it would use the data bus like it does for the RAP, and like the stock head unit does.

Oh well. Easy enough to fix next time.

There is some serious genius in this thread.

I need to do this mod soon, as the OEM unit is really grating my cheese with my iPhone 6.

Just so everyone knows, android 5.0 comes with native USB audio support so now you wont have to root your device.

What would I use native USB audio support for?

If you want to connect an external dac to an android phone or tablet you used to have to install a custom operating system that supported USB audio.

I had asked this question before.. But I don't think anyone replied..

Has anyone had issues using a USB stick for music... Mine plays for a while then unmounts and re-mounts and starts over all by itself..

I have tried different file systems, different sticks and re imaged to 4.4 again... and formatted the stick with the HU..

Anyone know of anything else to try, pumpkin responds but takes days to go back and forth...

I think most of the apps for that require root. I had USB otg helper if I remember right and I worked. Go to xda developers and ask around
